Eczema
and Dermatitis
Pictures of Eczema
"The word dematitis means
inflammation of the skin. Eczema is a specific
form of dermatits. Some physicians use the word
eczema to describe internally-provoked inflammation
of the skin, usually due to allergies, which
may affect some people more than others. Dermatitis,
on the other hand, also includes conditions
that are caused by external factors and affect
everybody in the same way, such as sunburn.
The distinction between eczema and dermatitis
is not important for their treatment, so the
terms are used interchangeably here. In addition
to inflammation of the skin, eczema is characterized
by redness and flaking and/or blistering. Eventually,
the skin in the affected area becomes thickened
and changes color." — quotation

The American Medical Association Family Medical
Guide, p. 253.

Eczema
and dermatitis sufferers have found it very helpful
to use our medical-grade, ultra-purified lanolin
cream. If the cause is an underyling poor condition
to the skin, the natural oils and other substances
in the lanolin, so similar to human skin oils,
can improve the health of the skin and reduce
its susceptibility to the eczema.

Lanolin,
the world's best emollient, the closest substance
known to human skin oils and impossible to reproduce
synthetically, is now available in a superior,
hypoallergenic, medical grade. Derived from
shorn wool, a cruelty-free product, Superlan®
has been created by a complex, patented and
costly process. It is highly refined, smooth
and ultrapure, with no preservatives, chemicals,
color or fragrance to irritate, it is safe for
the most sensitive, compromised or problem skin.
Despite
being exposed to harsh weather conditions, sheep's
wool is soft and luxuriant. Lanolin, a unique
blend of natural oils and waxes, forms a protective
coating on wool, and makes it waterproof. Containing
no water to dilute its effectiveness, it will
moisturize and soften even the driest, toughest
skin. It penetrates deeply and forms an emulsion,
like a sponge, soaking up water and releasing
it to the dry, outer layers of skin, thus reducing
the skin's tendency to crack, and keeping it
healthy and supple, resistant to a variety of
skin ailments.
